An Extra Day

So, what shall we do with it? This only happens every 4 years, so surely we should be making the most of an extra day. Think of all those times you've said to yourself "If only I had the time to..." or "If there were more hours in the day...." - well here's your chance! It's Leap Year Day. I must admit I'm almost feeling the pressure of it a bit. I mean, how can I best use the next 24 hours? I was planning on just putting my feet up ... as usual!

Of course, it's the day when a woman can traditionally propose to her man. But if you're not in a relationship or having to provide an extra day's free work for your boss, you might be interested in this. I found a website the other day which lists how to make the most of Feb 29th, so you feel like you've done something with the day - here's 20 ideas:

1) Throw a huge party and invite every one of your friends
2) Spend a whole day eating junk food without feeling guilty.
3) Go to Covent Garden and have your portrait painted buy a street artist
4) Send a message in a bottle
5) Find a map - and drive to somewhere nearby that you've never been to before.
6) Plant a tree
7) Write a fan letter to your all-time favourite hero or heroine
8) Start writing the novel you know you have inside you
9) Ask for a raise
10) Write your will (bit depressing maybe?)
11) Sleep under the stars
12) Spend a whole day reading a great novel
13) Forgive your parents
14) Learn to juggle with three balls
15) Accept yourself for who you are
16) Give to a charity
17) Create your own web site.
18) Create your Family Tree
19) Play your favourite CD really loud!
20) Get all your old photo albums out - and reminisce.

There ya go. Not bad eh? Alternatively, you could just do the norm ... drive the kids to school, rush to Bluewater to sort out a present for Mothers Day, eat lunch, watch Neighbours, pick the kids up from school and collapse. No?!

See you on Mothers Day night for more Heartbreakers from 10pm. Have a great weekend.
