Pregnancy is a wonderful time and you want to not only feel great, but also to look great. There is no need to exchange fashion and style for ‘frumpy’ maternity wear, so mama-la-mode is here to help.
There are some basic dos and don’ts when dressing whilst pregnant, and
we have outlined some simple to show what we think work's & what
doesn’t.
The most valuable style tip, is to accentuate above or below your bump.
Separating your bust from your belly with an empire line instantly
flatters a pregnant silhouette. If clothes fall straight from your bust
with no definition they can create a tent like look.
DON'T...... have your belly on show. As you move out of the third tri-mester, tops from your pre-pregnant wardrobe will become too short. Don't be tempted to wear them regardless! Not only will you feel cold and self-conscious, but you will constantly be pulling it down to make it fit.
... invest in some long camisoles. This will allow you to mix in your pre-pregnant wardrobe. Buy some long camisoles - in black, white and any other colour you wear. You can choose from a maternity camisole which roushes at the side from Homemummy or Blossom, or an extra-long style from non-maternity brands like C&C or Velvet.
You can then layer your tops without having to worry about covering your bump.

DON'TDon't just make do with wearing your partner's jumpers and jeans - it is too depressing and looks terrible.
It is a complete myth that baggy clothes when you're feeling fat/pregnant make you look better or magically cover up your seemingly bulging shape.
Do wear a figure-hugging stretch jersey or fitted clothes, whatever your size when pregnant.
These are far more flattering than baggy jumpers.
WE SUGGESTMini dresses become great transitional pieces when worn as tunics. A short dress, which you previously wore with tights when not pregnant, could now seem too short to wear on its own.
This can now be teamed with leggings or trousers and blend seamlessly into your maternity wardrobe.
