To celebrate the Boat Race, on Heart Breakfast this morning, Jamie and Harriet sent Keith Chegwin and two goats down to Putney Embankment to hold London's first Goat Race!
Cheggers was live from the Thames, with two Goats from Deen City Farm - Maddie, representing Oxford, and Maizey, representing Cambridge.
After a 150 yard dash along the river, Cambridge won despite only being 10 months old - just a kid really! Oxford got distracted by some grass and Keith almost fell in the river!
Come back soon to see the video, but in the meantime, here are some photos from the big event.
Goat Race Facts & Figures:
* Mother Maddie (age 3) will be racing her daughter Maizie (10 months – she’s just a kid!)
* They are British Alpine goats. They can be used as milking goats, but Maddie & Maizie aren’t
* They’re mainly black with white markings
* Maizie's grandmother, Dresden, lives with them, but at 10 years old next month; she’s a bit too old to travel!
* They live with a Toggenburg goat and two Alpacas but they couldn’t make it.
* Maddie, who will be racing for Oxford, has the most experience and is a little heavier (65-70kg) so goes into the race as favourite, but we can’t discount Maizie, who will be racing for Cambridge, as she has youth on her side.
