Journey To The Centre Of The Earth

What's it about? While trying to find out what happened to his brother, a scientist, his nephew and their guide discover a lost world in the centre of the earth.
What type of film is it? Action Adventure
Is it any good? I have to admit that I wasn’t expecting much from this film however I was very pleasantly surprised. When I was sent an invite to see a ‘family adventure’ in 3D I have to admit that I got a bit a worried and thought it was going to be a lukewarm gimmick filled romp with very little to keep my attention. I was very wrong. The set pieces are exciting and in some cases jawdropping – whether they are  in 3D or not, as some cinemas won’t be screening it with the extra dimension - and the FX are better than you might expect for a mid budget blockbuster. This delivers where other summer blockbusters like Indiana Jones 4 failed, and is a nice traditional – and dare I say I say educational – addition to this years big screen offerings. A rare rollercoaster of a movie.
