Is it any good? Firstly, this is a costume drama of epic proportions. There’s no getting away from it, so if that’s not your thing, this film probably isn’t for you. Set in the late 1700s and based on a true story, we get gorgeous country houses, sumptuous gardens, lavish parties, spectacular costumes and huge hair. Keira plays the Duchess of the title – a woman trapped in a loveless marriage… so it’s no wonder that comparisons have been drawn between Georgiana and her direct descendant Princess Diana. There’s no let up in pace throughout the film and Keira is stunning. It takes someone very special to deliver the level of intimate exposure we get from her in this film. Be prepared to shed a tear or two, especially if you’re a mum!
