What's it about? An Israeli Special Forces Soldier fakes his death so he can re-emerge in New York City as a hair stylist.
What type of film is it? Comedy
Is it any good? Love or hate Adam Sandler there can be no disputing that he knows how to pull off great comedy set pieces. They may not be high art or complex but they are very funny. This film has all the ingredients of a great Adam Sandler movie but there is something wrong with it – in places it gives in to the temptation to go for the obvious gags and those are the ones he is not good at. Why? Because he is above that. Pop culture references and clever social observations fly at you like crazy but then he spoils it with a silly gag involving humus or fighting with both his feet while still being able to stand up. There are enough comedy diamonds in the rough here though to make it worth a look, but only just.
