X Files To Be Solved Again

Mulder and Scully are returning to solve more supernatural mysteries in an X Files movie sequel.

The film, which has been anticipated by fans for almost 10 years, will be released in July next year.

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will reprise their roles as FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.

X Files creator Chris Carter is writing and directing the film.

Variety reported that the movie would be a stand-alone story and supernatural thriller that moves the complicated relationship between Mulder and Scully in a new direction.

The TV series ran for nine years from 1993 and led to a film in 1998, The X Files, which took 187 million dollars (£93.5 million) worldwide.
